Business Intelligence Internship

Eidex is an exciting startup company focused on delivering innovative, cloud-based analytic applications to K-12 leaders in education.  Our company builds business intelligence software that incorporates all of their financial and academic data.  Our clients rely on Eidex to provide data that drives improved performance and enhances communications with their constituents.  Eidex recently received funding from Start Garden.

Eidex Interns will be involved in researching, cataloging, and analyzing educational data.  Working with the development team, they will gather web and flat file based data sources, analyze and validate data, work with ETL scripts, maintain supporting SQL databases, code business intelligence application elements, and refine user interface components.

Each intern will be engaged in a range of the following activities, depending upon project assignments, specific tasks may include:

*       Research state educational data sources, gathering data, cataloging sources, and completing validation against application and quality requirements.

*       Learn QlikView development through a combination of self-study and peer mentoring.

*       Develop ETL load scripts to refine and integrate diverse data sources into a data model.

*       Develop & code KPI's, dashboard elements, and comparative performance metrics.

*       Support and develop web application components using .NET and AJAX.

*       Help define and develop data visualization and user interface elements.

*       Participate in data modeling sessions to define new applications capabilities.

*       Analyze, validate, and performance tune B.I. applications.

*       Validate and develop data quality algorithms and data scrubbing scripts for these apps.

*       Track, document, and help resolve client support issues and new analytic requirements

*       Maintain technical and client documentation for development, training, and support.

*       Research potential integration, third party, and non-educational data sources.

*       Participate in development of Java Script and advanced visualization extensions to enhance user experience.

*       Develop additional statistical analyses to broaden the range of possible data insights.

We are interested in candidates with the following educational background:

*       Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, or Statistics majors preferred.

*       Juniors, seniors and master's candidates.

*       Courses and/or experience with advanced development and scripting languages (JavaScript, .NET, C#)

*       Strong math and statistics background, including college course work.

*        SQL database skills, with some work or project experience preferred.
