Software Development Intern

As a team member embedded in an agile group of Software Developers and QA Engineers, you will create software products utilizing state of the art technologies. Take advantage of the opportunity to unleash your passion for software by contributing to real production code. With your team, you'll celebrate all the hard work that goes into a successful release to market while gaining first-hand experience in cutting edge, lean-agile, software development methodologies.

Some samples of what you could be doing at Vertafore:

*        Contributing to Application Frameworks that will be used by multiple products.

*        Ensuring code quality to aid in successful product releases.

*        Develop third-party integrations, which are consumed by customers.

*        Work with databases and analytics to determine how customers use our products.
Additionally, you will be exposed to multiple roles and disciplines as well as work on what interests you. Here, you will grow your development skills in areas, such as mobile & web applications, object-oriented programming, service-oriented architecture, database, analytics and testing frameworks. Finally, all interns receive coaching and mentoring from our experienced professionals.

Qualifications

*        Be pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field

*        Have a passion for technology and evidence of innovative or significant projects in or outside of class

*        Quickly pick up and apply new technologies and be proactive about learning

*        Contribute to a positive team environment

*        Possess good oral and written communication skills

*        Solid Object Oriented development skills

*        Java development skills

*        Experience with CSS/ JavaScript frameworks

*        Database knowledge


Full time summer internships and year long, part time internships are located in our East Lansing office.
