IS students, please note the need for Microsoft development tools (.Net, SQL Server etc) I visited LMCU awhile back, and they emphasized the need for these skills.

Subject: Internships at Lake Michigan Credit Union

Lake Michigan Credit Union seeks a number of students for internships, who can showcase their quick-thinking, brainstorming and office technology savvy to work in a number of departments in our corporate offices.

Our Mortgage leadership is seeking multiple individuals to work alongside senior staff members to help us pull together data, analyze and draw conclusions, and present decisions to the CU management team. Students should have advanced knowledge of all MS Office products, have been exposed to working within various database applications. Project Management tools or knowledge of processes are preferred. These completed projects will be used by levels of management within the CU and enable them to more effectively forecast business trends and support more efficient and meaningful communication tools.

Our Information Technology (IT) department seeks 3 individuals to work alongside experienced members of the IT staff to build and help maintain asset databases; audit and clean up internal documentation of processes and procedures; and assist to completion with incoming daily tickets. Individuals should have a base knowledge of the Information Technology field, have worked with Active Directory and/or SQL, HTML, .NET, and be pursuing a Computer Engineering or Computer Science or related degree.

Our Human Resources and Training groups are each seeking an intern. These individuals will work alongside the experienced staff and make positive impact on the manner in which data is utilized for the entire organization. A significant project will include maintaining a database of employee knowledge and skills, then begin to analyze and draw conclusion as to the skills gap within the organization. Other projects with a direct business impact include assisting employees with questions, & gathering and processing new employee paperwork. The individual selected to assist with the training group will learn the methodology of corporate training (adult learning). They will work as a valued member of the training team to ascertain the need, design the appropriate method for delivering the information and actually assisting with the training classes.

For 7 years running, Lake Michigan Credit Union has been selected as one of the 101 Best & Brightest Companies to Work For in West Michigan. At the core of this success are powerful traits we embody as a company.
