Multimedia Designer-INF0007669: The Multimedia Designer under the guidance of the Senior Instructional Designer, develops and implements key employee training materials, including multimedia, web-based and classroom instructional materials, globally for projects within their assigned group. It is expected the Multimedia Designer will follow GM's standards, process and policies as well as treat all training tasks equally without regard to the language or region being served. Additional training delivery and technical support experiences are beneficial in this role.

Responsibilities

- Work closely with and directed by the Senior Instructional Designer to implement the training strategy and training deliverables needed for an eLearning suite based on project requirements
- Create high quality and engaging multimedia video, audio, and simulations, using stills and animated graphics assembled for end user computer based training delivery.
- Create/update training supporting materials (e.g., Step-By-Steps, Quick Reference, How-To documents/guides/videos, etc...)
- Edit video footage including, compositing of motion graphics and titles
- Ensure all materials are consistent with GM branding standards
- Regularly review work with the Senior Instructional Designer to ensure quality standards are maintained
- Work both collaboratively and independently, and interact effectively with the End User Experience team members and GM IT project stakeholders
- Measure training effectiveness and continually improve training materials as needed
- Proactive identification of internal and external dependencies, highlighting issues, scope changes, and progress against project plan.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Experience using various multimedia training development programs, such as: Adobe Creative Suite 6 (Flash(r) Professional, Dreamweaver(r), Illustrator(r), Photoshop(r), Audition(r), After Effects(r)), Articulate Storyline(r), HTML 5, .NET, and other like technologies
- Extensive knowledge of training plans and training development is Required: web, video, live, hard copy, etc.
- Understanding of instructional design fundamentals and usability concepts
- Ability to analyze, interpret and implement scripts and storyboards for online training
- Demonstrated experience with interactive multimedia applications is required. The candidate must possess graphic design skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a required, including the ability to interact effectively in a team environment
- Excellent written/oral communication skills
- Strong listening and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and with all levels of user and management

Education

- Bachelor's degree is required with an emphasis on Instructional Media & Technologies, Web Development, Graphic Design, New Media or related field with a focus on training design and development.

Experience

- An online portfolio is required
- Minimum of three years of web-based experience
