Position: Hadoop Consultant
Location: NYC, NY
Duration: Full-Time

Location: New York City, Travel to UK may be required and reimbursed on actuals
Required Experience
Background and experience in Data Operations - Data Quality, Metadata, Data Lineage, Data Transformation, Modeling, Analysis, Reporting etc
Recent experience on newer Hadoop based technologies like Hive.
Experience in Financial Services is a must as a lot of the work is on Market and Banking data
Strong communicator due to NY and London based customers

Optional
Ability to program UDFs in Hive is a strong plus
Experience on Data Management tool called "Global IDs" is a strong plus.

Role
These candidates needs to be experienced professionals  who would interact directly with the client (NY/Scotland/London customers)
Interface with larger team that is being built in Pune, India for both Technical and Data Operations functions. Expect lot of hand holding offshore
These candidates with work with Capital markets data, Equity, Fixed income and derivative/swaps/mortgages.... All trading data and should make sense out
Candidates would extract the data from a wider dataset created by customer and based on the requirement from business would filter, massage/transform, Data model them and then pass on to the IT team to execute in production.

 Define strategy for data consumption
 Define strategy and provide data for Ingestion
 Create full functional specifications for ITO team
