SCM Product Acquisition Software Engineer (Intermediate/Associate)

As a member of the SCM Product Acquisition team you will be part of a team responsible for developing, testing, enhancing, and supporting a suite of world class supply chain management solutions.  These solutions include Item, Vendor, Cost, Purchase Order, Fresh Purchase Order, Non Stock Ordering, JDA, Product Complaint, Product Recall, and Vendor EDI.

The key to success in this role is a compliment of technical skills, focus on quality, a desire to exceed customer expectations, knowledge of Agile principles, and a drive to learn new technologies.  This role is expected to collaborate with Product Owners, Application Architects, Software Developers, and Quality Control on various enhancements in order to deliver business product solutions.

Position Summary:

Develops, creates, and modifies general computer applications software or specialized utility programs.  Analyzes user needs and develops software solutions.  Designs software or customizes software in order to optimize operational efficiency



Essential Functions:

·    Develop programs or scripts according to specification and established coding standards.

·    Analyze, review and test for accuracy and optimal implementation of developed solutions.

·    Analyze current business systems, determine scope and estimate for tasks related to issues to be resolved.

·    Perform integrated testing of systems for accuracy, reliability and optimal performance.

·    Construct various software components and validates completeness and quality.

·    Establish and enforce coding standards for programs or scripts.

·    Analyze and resolve program/script or system failures.

·    May facilitate formal code reviews for programs/scripts.

·    Perform software system maintenance, support and requirement analysis.

·    Assist in designing GUI and software components.

·    Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Educational & Experience Requirements:

·    Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field is preferred

·    Three to five years previous software development experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

·    In lieu of the specified education and experience requirements, a proven capability to perform the essential functions of the job, as demonstrated by an equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant work experience may be considered.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

·    Must have good written and verbal communication skills as well as good organizational and problem-solving capabilities.

·    Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and be able to work independently or within a team environment.

Equipment / Tools / Technology:

·    Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, email and internet software applications.

·    Proficient in one or more program languages, operating systems and databases

·    Fluent in c# development, web site design, console design, windows forms, library creations and customization

·    Fluent in xml

·    Fluent in sql queries, triggers, stored procedures and sql server management studio

·    Fluent with windows OS and windows servers 2012 and greater

·    Familiar with windows scripting scheduling, html, sql reporting service

Position Summary

Provides leadership direction to the technical team in the delivery of software project components and technical expertise.  Collaborates with the Designer, Systems Analyst, Project Manager, and developers on various projects.  Focuses on application product delivery aspects.


Essential Functions

· Provide technical leadership for projects and serves as point of contact in collaboration with the Project Manager.

· Develop vision for project including identification of and agreement on problems to be solved, identification of system stakeholders, system boundaries, and the description of primary system features.

· Analyze current business systems, determines scope and estimates effort for each element of scope.

· Perform requirement analysis including determination of Actors and Use Cases and the development of Business Use Cases and Systems Use Cases

· Responsible for development effort, completeness of software, and tracking progress using Agile principles.

· Ensures that the best development processes are followed including presentation to architecture councils, coding standards, quality control process, and transition to production and support.

· Assist in monitoring team activities, defining best practices and initiating process improvements.

· Provide input in hiring decisions, performance evaluations, mentor and motivate developers.


Requirements

· Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

· 3-5 years previous software engineering experience with one year previous leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

· Leadership qualities, including servant leadership, mentorship, development and project accountability.

· An understanding of Agile principles and associated processes/methods including Scrum.

· Experience in conducting development effort estimates.
