It is a bit late, but there may still be some students looking.  Could you write up a short job description of the particular skills (e.g., programming language(s), platform(s), etc.) and experience-level you are seeking?  If you send me that, either in the body of an email or as a PDF, I’m happy to send it along to our students.

I’ll also CC Pat Bailey — our Internship Coordinator — as he may know of some students who are looking.

My sister-in-law, Juliana Knot (a Freshman at Calvin this year), gave me your name and contact information this past weekend. I was talking with her about a potential computer science internship that my firm is looking to fill this summer. She mentioned that you would be a good person to contact for possible candidates from Calvin. In short, I work for Foresight Management. We are an energy management and consulting firm headquartered in Zeeland that partners with commercial and industrial businesses to help manage their energy (electricity, natural gas, water, etc.) consumption and costs. Our approach combines three areas of expertise: software, consulting, and facility engineering. The internship would be in our software/data department. Our software team collects thousands of utility data points from our clients and maintains an online dashboard that our clients can access. We’re looking for an intern who has an interest in energy management and would be able to support the further development of Foresight’s software and data collection methods.

I know it’s somewhat short notice, but we are looking for someone this summer. Do you know of any students that would be good candidates and interested in learning more? I’d love to meet with them if so!
