Happy Spring Break!

Enjoy your downtime this week and I will be praying that you are re-charged upon your return. I will have availability this week to meet with you in-person or virtually. I can also answer questions via e-mail, so please do not hesitate to connect.

Once you have accepted an internship opportunity, please take the following steps:


  1.  Report your internship with the Career Center.<https://calvin.edu/offices-services/career-center/resources-and-publications/forms/report-your-internship.html>
  2.  Please notify me that you accepted a position.
  3.  If you would like transcript credit for your internship, register for ENGR 385 in Summer 2024. ENGR 385 is NOT required for graduation. ENGR 385 is required for international students completing an internship. Benefits of ENGR 385 include:
     *   Giving students a guided opportunity to reflect on internship experience by completing course assignments on Moodle.
     *   Presenting at the Poster Session during the fall semester. This gives you exposure to:
                                                               i.      Employers, who are attending the session and looking for future candidates for internships and entry-level positions
                                                             ii.      Presenting a professional poster, which is beneficial for future professional and conference presentations

     *   Receiving transcript credit for your internship, which other engineering students receive this credit as their institutions require co-op/internship

Michigan Opportunities:

Vibration Research Internship:
This summer Vibration Research has an available internship for a Calvin undergraduate, preferably a computer science major. Vibration Research interns have an opportunity to work on software and hardware projects that support acquiring, analyzing, and presenting data, ultimately in product development. Working with Vibration Research engineers, interns have an opportunity to work in a fast paced agile development environment and help bring new products to market. Interns are selected for their outstanding scholarship and their interest in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, science, and technology.

Qualifications:

  *   Computer Science major preferred, Math, Physics, or Engineering undergraduate accepted
  *   Must be in 3rd year of program (current juniors)
  *   U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required

Salary Level:

  *   competitive hourly pay plus a $3000 scholarship for next year
  *   Approximate Hours Per Week: 40
