The computer science colloquium this week will be presented by Jim Leamer, from Wycliffe Bible Translators.

Title:  How Technology Is Changing Missions

Abstract:  We will talk about three aspects of missions and technology ...
Current uses- including MP3 players, solar powered equipment, radios, and aviation.
Bible translation-including speech analysis, different writing systems, collaborative software for translation, and machine translation.
The future-This is some thoughts on how different technologies might impact missions in the future.  This would include mosquitos zapped by lasers, smart phones as doctor assistants, balloon satellites and drones.


The colloquium meets Thursday, February 27, at 3:30 p.m., in SB 110.  Refreshments will be served.
