Dear Professor Adams,

My name is Matt, and I'm a co-founder at Plotly<http://plot.us3.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=1851a6af09d58010c415de0b1&id=c85845011c&e=27f35accca>, a graphing and analytics startup. If my Google searching is correct, I believe you are the chair of the Computer Science department at Calvin College (sorry if I'm off here!). We would love to be a free, online resource for you, your colleagues, and your students.

Plotly is built for Computer Science users to analyze data, make publication-quality graphs in the browser, and collaborate. We're brand new, and would love to hear your feedback, suggestions, and guidance. As a brand new startup, your guidance, feedback, thoughts, and advice would be much appreciated and go a very long way for us. So, thanks in advance for any and all help.

A bit more background. Plotly has:

  * A graphing GUI; fits, functions, stats, t-tests, ANOVAs, and error bars; and APIs<http://plot.us3.list-manage.com/track/click?u=1851a6af09d58010c415de0b1&id=e0af191be9&e=27f35accca> for making publication quality graphs in Python, R, MATLAB, REST, Julia, and Perl.
  * A Python sandbox and support for NumPy, LaTeX, pandas, datetime, and IPython (Notebooks here<http://plot.us3.list-manage.com/track/click?u=1851a6af09d58010c415de0b1&id=a332ff3265&e=27f35accca>).
  * A streaming API for Arduino and Raspberry Pi users to log and graph data (see our Arduino Instructable<http://plot.us3.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=1851a6af09d58010c415de0b1&id=05535ed75b&e=27f35accca>).
  *   A Google Chrome App<http://plot.us3.list-manage2.com/track/click?u=1851a6af09d58010c415de0b1&id=f5f67b4eda&e=27f35accca>.

Plotly graphs can be embedded in other websites, shared, and downloaded as a PNG, PDF, or SVG (Washington Post example here<http://plot.us3.list-manage.com/track/click?u=1851a6af09d58010c415de0b1&id=4649a3e8a2&e=27f35accca>). And, we always store data, graphs, and scripts together, so you can do all you graphing, analytics, and coding in one place. Then, you can share projects with others to collaborate, keeping all your graphs in a profile like this profile<http://plot.us3.list-manage.com/track/click?u=1851a6af09d58010c415de0b1&id=71853a7b8f&e=27f35accca> from a particularly active Plotly user.

If you'd be interested in sharing us with your colleagues and students, we'd be extremely grateful. If I can help with anything or you'd like to talk, I'd love to email or talk on a video call. I've also included a few sample graphs, our gallery, and some projects to illustrate a few Plotly uses (just click through to see the live, interactive version).

Thanks so much for any and all feedback, advice, and support.

All my best,
Matt
