Subject: Postbaccalaureate position at NIH

Hi,
I am a recent Calvin alum who is currently working at NIH as a postbaccalaureate fellow and I wanted to let you know of an opportunity for Calvin graduates. My PI is looking for 5-6 individuals who would like to work in a wet bench, bioinformatics, or computer programming position. I have been working here for over a year now and would highly recommend this position to anyone looking to get some experience and training before continuing with their education. The information is provided below.
Thank you and I hope all is well,
Amanda Links
"I am the laboratory director for the Undiagnosed Diseases Program (http://www.genome.gov/27544402) and would like to make you and your faculty aware of a research opportunity for recent graduates and graduating students at the National Institutes of Health.
Through the POSTBACCALAUREATE INTRAMURAL RESEARCH TRAINING AWARD (POSTBAC IRTA/CRTA) https://www.training.nih.gov/programs/postbac_irta, we are able to employ students for 1-2 years before they continue on to graduate or professional school. My objective is to provide an outstanding set of students with mentoring and exceptional research opportunities that will empower them to pursue basic or translational research throughout their careers.
For the coming year, I am looking to hire 5-6 Postbac IRTAs. 2 for wet bench work; 2-3 for bioinformatics and 1-2 for computer programing on the NIH Biowulf super computing cluster. The Postbac IRTAs do not need to pursue solely one or the other of these tracks since I am flexible to match the job to the individual's needs.
If you are interested, I would like to speak to you about this opportunity by phone at your convenience.
Regards,
Neal
