Internship position with the Information Technology Department at Bethany Christian Services.

The position offers a wide variety of experience from networking, preparing new computers, assisting with projects, desktop support, administrative tasks, in addition to general tasks.
*             10 - 20 hours per week
*             Pay Rate: $10.00/hr

General Summary: Install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain computer, communications and peripheral equipment including monitors, printers, and other hardware and software. Provide hardware and software related training, technical assistance and support to computer users.

Assist in the planning, implementation and documentation of current IT projects.

Essential Requirements:
1.            Working towards a BS in Computer Science or related.
2.            Experience in computer support, maintenance and configuration.
3.            Good verbal and written communication skills.
4.            Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative.
5.            Demonstrated ability to work in an organized, detailed and cooperative manner.
6.            Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement and Cultural Diversity Commitment.

Essential Functions:
1.            Provide technical support, user assistance and training.
2.            Troubleshoot equipment problems and install new equipment.
3.            Maintain up-to-date information regrading hardware and software by maintaining systems database information (system records).
4.            Maintain operating systems; analyze and correct software errors.
5.            Install, troubleshoot, and maintain desktop software including office productivity, internet and lotus notes based applications.
6.            Install, test, troubleshoot and maintain computer hardware and software. Upgrade software as needed.
7.            Diagnose and resolve problems and malfunctions utilizing test programs and equipment. Inspect and test equipment to determine feasibility of repair; install replacement parts; operate test equipment and related tools and equipment.
8.            Determine and communicate equipment, program installations, repairs and availability.
9.            Perform other duties as assigned.
