Job Description

At LECO, you will contribute to programs that are part of our laboratory instruments.  Your code will control furnaces, plasma lamps, motors, and pneumatics; it will collect data from thermal probes and optical sensors; and it will process and present the data in a beautifully and richly-animated touch user interface.  In addition to working with other software developers, you will also collaborate with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and anlytical chemists to craft our next generation of laboratory instruments.

A good part of your day will be spent in your own large office with real walls and an open lofted ceiling.  At other times you will pair with other coders and collaborate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.  Our R&D building contains three large laboratory bays where we work on proof-of-concepts and build production prototypes.  Because our work often requires collaboration around a physical instrument, a remote developer cannot contribute to the continuous iterations required to keep up with our demanding pace.  Therefore, we require software developers to be on-site during normal business hours.
