Hi, Jenna.

The only thing I could add is that most interns now receive anywhere between $12 to $17 an hour.  Of course, there are some outside of this boundary depending on the nature of the work.

Thank you Patrick for your quick response. We have been trying to communicate with a few web-design companies to figure out how much a project of this magnitude would typically cost. That would help us decide on an expected wage and hopefully they can assist us with somewhat of a job description as this is not our area of expertise.

We are always happy to help in obtaining interns for companies and non-profits.  The only thing we ask is for a job description that includes  the following information:

Organization Name and Address
Job title
Description of duties
Start and End Date
Expected wage
Point of Contact

I should let you know that it is getting very competitive to hire interns.  So, I can’t promise much response for volunteer positions.  There is greater demand than there is availability of computing students.

Good Afternoon Patrick,

I received your name from the Computer Science department when I called Calvin this morning. My name is Jenna Kape and I am the Executive Director of a local non-profit agency that supports orphanages overseas, International Promise Foundation. I work from home (in Byron Center) and our donors are primarily local – here in the Grand Rapids area. Our current partnership is with an orphanage in Bangladesh that we have had ties to for the past 14 years.

We are currently entering into our 2nd year of operation and our programs are growing rapidly. We are in need of someone to help us design a website that is more informative and interactive for our current and future donors. We currently just use a basic format site through VistaPrint. I am writing to ask if there is an internship that can be set up between Calvin and International Promise Foundation that would assist is doing just this?

Please let me know if there is more information you need or a more specific description of what we are looking for.
