CRM Front Office - Software Engineer


As a member of the Gordon Food Service CRM Front Office team you will be part of a team responsible for developing, testing, enhancing, and supporting a suite of world class customer facing solutions.  These solutions include Recipe Manager, Inventory Manager, Online Ordering, Online Bill Payment, Cycle Menu Management, Customer EDI, Customer Portal, and Foodshow.  The primary focus of this role will be to work on our eCommerce release team which supports our online ordering application on mobile, tablet and desktop browsers.


The key to success in this role is a compliment of technical skills, a commitment to quality, a desire to exceed customer expectations, and a drive to learn new technologies.  This role will also collaborate with software partners, internal IS teams, and business groups across Gordon Food Service.


Essential functions include:

·         Develop and test programs or scripts according to design specifications, established coding practices, and performance requirements

·         Analyze current business systems, determining the scope and estimates for tasks related to enhancements or issues that need to be resolved

·         Perform integrated testing of systems for accuracy, reliability, and optimal performance


The ideal candidate for this position will have these attributes:

·         Three to five years development experience within Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems is required, with strong results in relevant coursework

·         JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JQuery - strongly preferred

·         Object Oriented Programming Language Experience - desired

·         Familiarity with AngularJS, APIs, dependency injection, responsive design  - desired

·         Experience developing for web browsers on both mobile & desktop platforms

·         Strong knowledge of core Computer Science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, memory management

·         Understanding of secure coding practices

·         Strong commitment to software quality, including experience with unit testing

·         Working knowledge of software quality assurance and business analysis processes

·         Proven analytical, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills

·         Solid customer focus, teamwork, innovation, creativity, and relationship building

·         Strong verbal and writing skills

·         Effective time management, organization, and communication skills
