Information Systems students, the opportunity discussed below is one worth exploring.  It has mostly emphasis on systems analysis working with cloud technology (SAAS).  The CRC North America headquarters has an excellent history in the quality of its internships.

Overview Work within the applications team to (a) ensure the security and availability of key CRCNA data, (b) design, test, and implement changes to the database applications related to the CRCNA’s multiple Salesforce.com org(s), and (c) work with users to facilitate their work related to data collection, data analysis, and business process.
Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following

  1.  Serve as an active participant of a self-managing team whose members are collaboratively responsible to carry out the above purpose.  The team is responsible to and supervised by the CRCNA IT Director.  In the context of this team, the Applications Team Assistant will be assigned a specific, limited set of projects by the Applications Team Leader.
  2.  Develop, maintain, and support database applications related to CRCNA’s Salesforce.com Org(s).
a. Implement database structure changes in the context of the specific projects assigned.
b. Utilize declarative and programmatic development tools of the Salesforce.com platform
c. Investigate/evaluate the use of third party functionality as solutions to user needs where applicable.
d. Research application capabilities and release notes/new functionality as directed.
  3.  Support end users in their pursuit of efficiency and effectiveness
a. Work with project stakeholders to understand their needs specific to the assigned projects.
b. Work with project stakeholders to facilitate the work that they do related to data collection, data analysis, and business process.
c. Analyze the use of and make adjustments to drop down lists and reports as directed.
  4.  Assist in the management of risk related to system use and data storage by doing the following:
a. Identify opportunities for standardization
b. Follow standardized Change Management procedures
c. Formulate testing plans to ensure database integrity and data security within our Salesforce.com Org(s) and work with users and other IT team members to execute the testing.
d. Hands on testing and troubleshooting activities as directed.
e. Data clean up, formatting, mapping, and importing and exporting as assigned.
Qualifications

  1.  Strong customer service orientation.
  2.  Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  3.  Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  4.  Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  5.  Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals.
  6.  Ability to conduct research into issues and products as required.
  7.  Keen attention to detail and follow through.
  8.  Skilled at working within a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  9.  Respect for the Christian character of the work and workers within CRC.
Additional Information

  1.  Some college/university coursework is required.
a. Coursework toward a degree in computer science is preferred.
  2.  At least 1 year of customer service experience is preferred.
  3.  Prior experience working with database structures, code, or administration is preferred.
