Hi Keith-

I hope you are well!  I wanted to let you know of an opportunity coming up on December 4 for students and faculty who wanted to volunteer in schools for Computer Science Awareness Week.  It is the Hour of Code initiative. This is being supported by the West Michigan Tech Talent - the GROW subcommittee.

The Hour of Code is a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries, and is a great way to get involved this holiday season and teach local students passion for and interest in IT. The experience will not include teaching actual code, but rather a simple tutorial to teach  3rd - 5th grade students how to think in a more of a detail and process oriented mindset. Each participant will have a detailed script as a mentor, to know exactly what to do and ensure a very simple and straight forward experience without the requirement for technical knowledge. Last year, WMTT had about 1000 students participating ... this year, we have almost 2500 students.

Signing up as a pair is encouraged, but you are definitely able to sign up for a session solo if you feel comfortable.
