Job Description: Tier 1 Operations Support Analyst
Primary Job Functions:
* Serve as a Level 1 technical resource for IT Ops support staff
* Assist with Ops Support coverage by participating in 24 hours x 365 days support and working in night work shift including weekends
* Use software support tools to identify and report issues in a highly complex environment
* Perform client impact analysis and document root cause analysis findings in follow up to critical production incidents
* Track handling of support incidents through ticketing system, to include detailed resolution notes to support a knowledgebase repository
* Support Incident Management practices, following established ticketing, escalation, and notification procedures
* Support access setup and code deployment requests in a UNIX/LINUX environment
* Work with various stakeholders on a frequent basis to achieve the desired outcomes
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
* Relevant IT experience of 1-4 years working in a corporate, technical role
* Knowledge of IT Operations and Quality Assurance concepts and tools
* Support a wide range of software’s and applications, including COTS products or in-house developed applications
* Excellent consultative and communication skills, analytical ability, decisiveness, strong judgment, and the ability to work effectively with all stakeholders
* Having worked in a support capacity would be an advantage
* Follow established guidelines, standards and procedures to conduct initial fact finding and troubleshooting steps and alerting and escalating to appropriate teams
* The ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge effectively
* The ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adapt quickly based on the needs of the department and the organization
* The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate to users at all levels
* Professional and positive attitude
Must Have Technical Qualifications:
* Stong computer usage skills
* Experience of both Windows and Unix/Linux environments
* Knowledge of UNIX/Linux admin skills and commands
* Experience using software tools as PUTTy, Connection Manager/Control, HP Service Manager, vi Editor, and various OS commands
* Knowledge of JBoss FUSE or API will be a plus
